Dear Families,
It is hard to believe that we are already well into our second semester of Religious School with 105 students registered from pre-school through high school.
At the end of last semester we had a successful Mitzvah Fair, a youth led philanthropy event, that raised almost $1400 for eight different organizations in our own community. Students get to further their understanding of tzedakah by picking the organizations they want to support, presenting them to the rest of the school, and then distributing the money they bring to the organizations.
This year, we planned six collaborative programs with Congregation Anshei Israel’s Religious School. Four of the events are just for students and two include families. The last program will be the well-anticipated Chocolate Seder on Sunday, March 26th. We will be hosting it at Kol Ami.
Early Bird Enrollment for Religious School will begin in March. We will also hold a Pancake Breakfast fundraiser on Sunday, April 16th to help defray the cost of the end of the year trip to Jewish L.A. in 2024. Please join us and support our students either in person or by donating online. Watch for more details.
As we wrap up the year, we will be sending home information on nominating staff for the Gendell Award for Jewish Educators and end with our annual Siyyum on Sunday, May 7th.
