Join Rabbi Louchheim in a 3- session course about your legacy of values and the afterlife according to Judaism. The sessions will include the following topics: 
 
  • Ethical Wills - parents to children - share the way they lived, providing hope for future generations to pass on what you do not want to be forgotten.
  • Rituals after life to ensure their lives are not forgotten - Shiva, Yahrzeit, and Yizkor 
  • Is Heaven a Garden of Eden? - Rabbinic views of our afterlife 
Instuctor Bio
Rabbi Thomas Louchheim has served as an active Reform rabbi for 37 years. In Tucson, he has served as a rabbi at Temple Emanu-El, Handmaker Jewish Community Hospice, Congregation Or Chadash, and as a co-rabbi at Kol Ami until his retirement as emeritus rabbi in 2023. He is a member of the Central Conference of Reform Rabbis (CCAR) and is serving on the Tucson Board of Rabbis and the HIAS Clergy Executive Council. 
  
Rabbi Louchheim has published articles and given lectures related to writing ethical wills and death, dying, and the afterlife. He has written related articles in The CCAR Journal – “Avoidance by One-Liner” (2016), Passages – “When Death has Occurred” (1994), and a chapter in the book, That You May Live Long: Caring for our Aging Parents, Caring for Ourselves, "Caring for our Parents by Making Decisions Together" (2003).
