Shabbat Ki Tisa Hike

Does your soul come alive in the natural world? Join Rabbi and Israeli desert guide, Mike Comins, on an easy hike near Saguaro East National Park. We will explore the Jewish connection between inner and outer geography through the lens of Torah and Shabbat. We will walk as much as four miles on a wild, but gentle, trail.
 
Packing List
  • Daypack
  • Snacks
  • At least a quart of water
  • Good walking shoes (boots not necessary)
  • Hat
  • Sunscreen and sunscreen lip balm
  • Layers for warmth (if it's a cool day)
  • Rain gear (if it's a rainy day)
  • If you use reading glasses, please bring them.
  • Optional: lightweight, folding camp chair, or something to sit on.
  • DO NOT BRING: Pets are not permitted on the trail.
Instuctor Bio
Rabbi Mike Comins, currently based in Tucson, is a leader in Jewish wilderness spirituality and the founder of TorahTrek Spiritual Wilderness Adventures. Ordained by the Hebrew Union College in Jerusalem, he has guided spiritual journeys through Israel’s deserts and the Sinai mountains, blending Jewish practice with deep nature connection. An experienced educator and author of A Wild Faith and Making Prayer Real, Rabbi Comins integrates mindfulness, prayer, and wilderness exploration in his teachings. He continues to lead nature-based programs, offering opportunities to connect spirituality with the natural world.
