Dear Friends,

The Board of Trustees continues to move Kol Ami in a forward direction. We have started and accomplished a number of projects. One of our most notable is updating the Policies and Personnel Manual and instituting new governance policies to ensure the welfare of the congregation. The policies include a Discretionary Fund Policy, Named Fund Policy, Whistleblower Policy, Board of Trustees Code of Ethics, Credit Card Usage Policy, Social Media Policy, Document Retention Policy, Conflict of Interest Policy, Gift Acceptance Policies and Guidelines, and the Arts and Donation Policy.

Just a few weeks ago, I felt we really enriched our congregational mission of education when our Dorson Scholars-In-Residence visited. I hope that you had an opportunity to learn from Rabbis Linda and Jonathan and maybe taste a bagel or some challah.

Our search for an Executive Director is still underway. I want to thank Michelle Blumenberg for her tremendous efforts in the Interim Executive Director role.  Under Rabbis Cohen and Louchheim, Cantor Cohen, and Michelle's leadership, we continue to make Kol Ami a home of Joyful Judaism for all.

On the horizon, we are planning for the retirement of Rabbi Louchheim with two events, the gala on May 13 and a special L’Chaim to Louchheim Shabbat on May 5. I encourage all to attend.

As we celebrate and enjoy the many offerings and events at Kol Ami, I want to personally thank all who continue to work tirelessly, both behind the scenes and in front of the congregation, ensuring our legacy as we move forward.

I hope to see many of you at Rabbi Cohen’s installation in a couple of weeks.

Thank you,

Seth
