immersive 3-hour workshop, held in the serene setting of my home
studio and gardens. As we approach Rosh Hashanah, a time when
t'shuvah calls us to reflection and repentance, this class offers a unique
opportunity to explore forgiveness not just intellectually, but through
experiential art and ritual.
Through creative expression and intentional practices amidst the tranquility
of nature, we'll engage with practical strategies to release resentment, heal
old wounds, and cultivate empathy – for others and for yourself. This
embodied approach allows for deeper processing and genuine liberation,
preparing your heart for the new year. Following our workshop, you're invited
to extend the connection with a one-hour community bonding afternoon
tea party (4:00-5:00 pm), fostering a supportive space as we step towards
renewal.
Instructor Bio
Lynn Rae Lowe, also known by her spiritual name Shoshana Ha Cohenet, has led a remarkably diverse and accomplished life spanning numerous creative disciplines. From starting as a dancer at age five to continuing her involvement in stage acting as a performer and writer, to becoming a pivotal figure in transforming Telluride, Colorado, into a "Festival Capital of the World," her community involvement spans to founding the Lowe Co Motion organization to support new endeavors. She also self-published a book and wrote as "The Gardening Guru." As an educator, she was an originator in the Colorado Artist in the School program, and her adult program "Drawing It Out" reflects her core belief that "it’s not that artists are special kinds of people, but rather each person is a special kind of artist."
Since moving to Tucson in 1987, Lowe completed her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Mixed Media from the University of Arizona, graduating Summa Cum Laude. She has achieved international recognition for her award-winning metal artwork, which has been featured in prestigious museum exhibits and represented by international galleries and over 250 Judaica retailers. Her installations are prominent throughout Tucson, and she considers it a great honor to have her Yahrzeit candle holders sold at the National Holocaust Museum in Washington, D.C. She also created a 6'Wx 4'H Menorah commissioned by Temple Beth El in Bloomfield, Michigan. To honor the memory of the architect Minoru Yamasaki who designed the Temple in 1984. Shoshana was honored to create the Menorah to reflect the sanctuary design as a homage to the master. Currently, she is dedicated to sharing how individuals can tap into their creativity to live a more joyful existence.
